Messenger Bags For Dad By Cora Lee

My brother has been taking care of his four kids for more than a decade; but he was rare for a Dad at that time. Today, men are seen everywhere with their kids, carrying messenger style diaper bags slung across their backs with many a baby and stroller in tow. The media have been spotlighting famous Dads like Brad Pitt, now father of six, Seal, husband of the lovely Heidi Klum, and gorgeous Hugh Jackman oft seen cavorting with his adorable adopted Ava, all of whom carry messenger bags. There are as many styles as there are Dads, so let's take a look at a few that would make fabulous Father's Day gifts.

Storksak Messenger Bags

Storksak carries the most famous baby bag for Dad now known as the Brad Pitt Diaper Bag. Storksak's Jamie is worn by Brad in Black, and also comes in Espresso. The luxuriously supple pebbled all leather bag is sleek and adaptable to any situation this famous Dad may find himself in: on set, in the board room, or as a producer. No one will even be suspect he is carrying a baby bag unless he leaves baby's bottle hanging out of the exterior thermally insulated bottle pocket. This bag is designed to help keep Dad organized and has a pen holder, cell holder, key clip, separated pockets for baby's things and a washable changing mat for the inevitable.

OiOi Messenger Bags

OiOi is the most popular Australian nappy sack designer. You can imagine that Hugh has browsed a few of their diaper bags in local boutiques especially the Brown Messenger with either blue or pink trim and the Ink Cargo Drill. Made from a light weight easy to clean microfiber, it has everything a Dad like Hugh would need, large padded changing mat, internal pockets for nappies, wipes, and other baby essentials, a removable insulated bottle holder, a must for long sessions on set, outer pockets for his wallet, cell, snacks, PDA, plus two exterior insulated pockets for drinks, hot or cold, baby or his own.

Ramalama Messenger Bags

We chose Ramalama's sleek Stevie in ultra soft Chocolate Italian leather as the fitting diaper bag for Seal. Modern, subtle, and strong, the leather strap is fully adjustable for Daddy's comfort. Adaptable for work and play, Daddy is fully equipped with 2 perfect bottle pockets, 6 interior pockets organizing all of Baby's needs and even includes a clip so that baby's pacifier does not stray, and a changing mat. Ramalama cleverly designed the messenger flap so that the exterior pocket holding his cell, keys, or wallet is easily accessed and not lost amongst the baby things.

Cricket and Monkey Messenger Bags

Cricket and Monkey have some of the most playful and creative diaper bags on the market. Their Skulls and Roses Logan would be perfect for a Johnny Depp Dad who has close relations to Captain Jack Sparrow and the rest of the pirate crew. Made from canvas and easy to clean PVC, this designer thought of everything, including two exterior bottle pockets for baby and two exterior cell and wallet pockets for Dad.

Father's Day Or Father's Day Off - Which is More Required? By Paul Kramer

Father or Dad is the guy you always see going to work every morning and then fixing up things around the house on weekends and cleaning out the garage. This great guy has a lot of responsibilities in and out of the house to maintain their kids and sometimes listens to her wife's nagging about how busy and hectic her entire day was and nothing got done because of that. She had been waiting for him to come home to help with a whole pile of house chores which she should have done but couldn't do them because she was too busy. Yeah sometimes it happens.

This man hears several times in a week and wakes up on a weekend with a list full in his hands. Well! This is life and probably this is what life is all about.

Honestly, it is not the number of years that a father or dad puts behind his present day until he turns old, but the length and frequency of these small little odd task which help him in turning gray, and not just the hair on the head, but totally inside out. Father or Dad needs breaks. They need breaks to unwind and restore their lost zeal to live and live well. They need to get out of being part of the plumbing in the house and motor that operated the garbage disposal system. They need a quality break time or a free day and undisturbed, not every day but only in every June 21st.

Some people think that a father's day is a great way to show appreciation to the man who does it all, but believe me it is the father's day off that really makes him the happiest as a token of appreciation for all that he has done in your life. Let him relax, have some fun and buy things that he likes. Dresses, watches and tools that make him a complete man.

Dad's Diary - It's a Mom's World By Scott A Walker

We dads, before we're officially Dads, aren't quite sure how this whole parenting thing will work out. We've seen other guys, whom we've deemed far inferior to us, thrust into the parenting world and somehow, against all odds, they make it. We, too, should be able to master this. Why do we doubt ourselves? Because society makes us! It's a mom's world out there - everything relating to kids is built around them - Mother's Day Out, playgroups, magazines. We're trying to break into this huge fortress, but the gates are locked tight and there are big, burly guards out front keeping us at bay.

When our son was an infant, we had a wonderful nanny who stayed with him from 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. My work schedule allowed me to fill the gap between 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. when my wife got home. I took pride in the fact that every afternoon when we packed up the stroller and hit the road for a long walk I was the only dad out there. At the same time, it drove me nuts when moms out for a stroll with their little ones brought up the fact that I was "babysitting." How often are moms asked if they're babysitting? Let's go out on a limb and say never.

So here's a message to all the people out there who rank dads just above the yard guy: we're trying to get used to this whole idea of being a dad. Don't make it more difficult for us. Embrace us! Welcome us in as one of your own! We may even surprise you every now and then and fail to come up with an excuse to get out of changing that dirty diaper.

Fathers' Unique Parenting Skills Can Help Child's Social Development By James Dunsford

According to new research, it may be beneficial for fathers to be a kid again, at least for a little bit.

For some fathers, wrestling and playing video games with their kids can lead to some light teasing on both sides, especially if you are losing. While it may not seem like it, recent studies have found that this practice of teasing can be a helpful parenting skill in improving a child's social development.

New research from the National Communication Association found teasing can be a positive experience in child development because it teaches them "how to show affection and deal with conflict."

"Research shows us that even very young children can recognize that teasing is not always bad; that sometimes it can be a fun way to play with friends and family," said Carol Bishop Mills, one of the authors of the study.

This may include a light-hearted "I don't think you're gonna make it!" during a video game or a good-humored "You think you can take down the old man? Have at it!" before some playful wrestling.

The key, according to the researchers, is to make sure everyone is laughing and having a good time. They suggest fathers use their parenting skills to identify if the teasing crosses over to bullying.

If some slight aggression does emerge from the teasing, fathers can use the opportunity to teach their child about the difference between teasing and bullying, which may help the child in a school environment.

This somewhat loose approach toward parenting can benefit a child's social, physical and intellectual development, according to Dr. Kyle Pruett, a professor of child psychiatry at Yale and author of Fatherneed.

By engaging children in this nontraditional manner, fathers may also develop strong bonds with their kids that may not have been formed another way.

Father's Day UK, USA and Everywhere Else That Celebrates This Annual Dad's Event - Gift Ideas! By Nasasha Ashah

So what can you get your your dad on Father's Day - held on the third Sunday of June?

Got a bit stuck for ideas? Buying presents for men can be difficult as it is, and perhaps even moreso on this of all days. Maybe you have got a few ideas but are still looking for more options as you are not sure the present is good enough. Well, here are a few ideas to consider whether buying for your dad, or your husband/boyfriend with whom you are parents to a child.

First, some simple gift ideas your father may appreciate:

  • Aftershave - A bottle of the scented stuff works well if you know the types of fragrances he likes.
  • Shaving Kit or Electronic Shaver - encourage him to keep those whiskers trimmed, especially if they're turning gray.
  • DVDs, CDs, Books - Easy, Straighforward, Simple.
  • Electronic Gadgets and Accessories - could be something novel like a digital photo frame, or something more common - mp3 player, ipod/iphone, digital camera, mobile phone, games.
  • Watches, Rings, Chains, and Cufflinks - Easy, Straightforward, Simple.
  • Gift voucher - If you can't choose something, then let him choose himself. Amazon gift vouchers are perfect, so much to choose from.
  • Ornaments to decorate the place - and the great thing is it's for the house so it's really a shared present.
If he is a young or adrenaline loving dad, then here are some Fathers Day presents for men that like high-octane action!
  • Flying
  • Driving
  • Skydiving
  • Snowboarding
  • Hot Air Balloon Ride - this one is good as you could go together!
Non-Adrenaline Activities for the quieter paced father and shared experiences:
  • Horse riding - can do it together.
  • Champagne flight over London - a together mini-adventure in style.
  • Theatre - when was the last time you went?
  • Introductory or Professional session in a Recording Studio - As long as you won't regret hearing him post session rehearsing to be a star, this would be a good treat.
  • Karaoke - cheaper version of the above. Go find a local bar that has private rooms and arrange a night out with the family or send him off there with his mates.
  • Overnight Golf Break - another together activity.
  • Holiday Break - a pleasant surprise!
  • Local or Luxury Cruise - If you have got the money...
These are of course just some examples of presents for men that are available, but if you were confused before you should be getting some good ideas now of what to buy for Father's Day.
